What We Do

Picture

Cultural Understanding

Counteract communities and ethnic groups experiencing bias, prejudice and hate with conversations of respect, inclusion and love!

Build Bridges among neighbors when there is strife or discord seeking common ground issues, goals and cohesiveness.

Youth Development

Provide programs and venues to enhance our young peoples' unique gifts. We will teach, encourage and empower the value of community service! As the youth serve they become educated on the needs and organizations in their community. They bless those they are helping and get blessed in return.

Youth Entrepreneur Development will allow young people who one day want to own their own business the opportunity to learn and even be provided the funding, mentorship and resources to start.

Develop a young adult emergency response team to be available for communities. The team can tackle a plethora of issues and help with emergencies, disasters, learn to direct traffic, coordinate feeding programs and crisis counseling. Crisis counseling can be taught so young people would have their peers to talk to about issues challenging their lives. The pandemic, drug use, rejection, abandonment, parental mediation are topics they will learn to address.  Spanish speaking young adults will be trained as well and desperately needed for service in our county!

Homelessness

In Ocean County we do not have an official homeless shelter as of the date of this submission. We are unique at the Jersey Shore and put the homeless in hotels to help the hotel owners during the slow seasons.
We periodically connect to those in the hotels and provide programs, resources, gifts, and whatever we can utilize to encourage them during this traumatic time in their life.

We work with social services to help move the homeless from the streets and even hotels into a group homes.
We have opened group homes for the homeless and support this group as well.
We have also operated Code Blue shelters when we had over 100 people living in the woods during tent city and support ones in our county.

People have groups they are naturally drawn to and have a passion to help. Love Your Neighbor feels led to support the various groups who help our homeless neighbors in the varied demographics. We look to help for example, the chronic homeless through Code Blue, youth aging out of foster care, and the list goes on.

Many of the homeless have mental challenges and we are working to develop more programs and connect with others who can address this population.
